Hours: 24 hours per week (flexible)
Are you an experienced payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has exceptional attention to detail? We want to hear from you!
We have an opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our finance team based at our Head Office in High Wycombe on a part-time basis. You will work closely with the Payroll Manager, ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of monthly payroll for approximately 600 employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out detailed payroll checks, reconciliations, and balances to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance
- Process starters, leavers, contractual changes, overtime, bonuses, allowances, deductions, and statutory payments accurately within payroll deadlines
- Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation, pension auto-enrolment requirements, and company policies
- Support the management of pensions, benefits, and payrolled benefits in kind
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports and information as required
- Respond to payroll-related employee queries professionally and confidentially
- Assist with payroll audits and reconciliations, maintaining accurate payroll records
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the maintenance of payroll systems and procedures

What are we looking for?
- Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience
- Proven experience processing payroll for a workforce of 500+ employees
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll or similar software
- Exceptional understanding of UK payroll legislation, pensions, and HMRC requirements
- Ability to work independently and manage payroll deadlines confidently
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
