Payroll Supervisor
Hemel Hempstead on-site (1 day from home after probation)
£50,000 - £55,000 + Great Benefits
Our Client, a well-established, market-leading organisation, is looking for an experienced and hands-on Payroll Supervisor to join its talented team based in Hemel Hempstead.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of an end-to-end payroll function spanning the UK and overseas, while playing a key role in the transition to a new payroll system — Dayforce. You'll be the subject matter expert in the room, leading the charge on implementation and embedding best practice from day one.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the full payroll cycle across multiple territories, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery at all times. Working alongside one Payroll Administrator based in the same Hemel offices, you'll provide leadership, direction, and day-to-day support while managing workloads, cover, and professional development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Previous experience supervising or leading a payroll team.
