Overview
At Solus, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a Payroll Supervisor to lead the delivery of our payroll and expenses processes while developing and supporting a small, experienced payroll team.
Reporting to the Pay and Rewards Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day payroll operation, ensuring payroll and expenses are processed accurately, on time and in line with legislative requirements.
Working closely with colleagues across Finance, HR and the wider business, you'll help improve processes, support key compliance activities and develop the capability of the payroll team to ensure exceptional service delivery. This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact, driving accuracy, efficiency and continuous improvement while ensuring our colleagues receive an excellent payroll service.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of accurate and timely payroll and expenses processing.
- Coach, mentor and develop Payroll Administrators, supporting their growth and performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC, pension and statutory reporting requirements.
- Support payroll audits, reporting and annual submissions, including gender pay reporting.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing excellent customer service.
- Analyse payroll data and recommend improvements to processes and controls.
- Maintain payroll documentation, procedures and governance standards.

Qualifications
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, legislation and compliance requirements.
- Previous payroll experience, including reconciliations and payroll reporting.
- Experience leading, developing or mentoring team members.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
