TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly established and reputable accountancy practice in Canterbury with the recruitment of a Payroll Supervisor.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing practice with a large and successful payroll department. You will oversee the day-to-day delivery of payroll services to a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, while supervising and supporting members of the payroll team.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied portfolio of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls, ensuring they are processed accurately and on time.
  • Supervising and supporting members of the payroll team, including reviewing their work and providing guidance where required.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and responding to payroll queries professionally and promptly.
  • Ensuring compliance with current payroll legislation and managing all associated reporting and submissions.
  • Overseeing workplace pension and automatic enrolment requirements, including assessments and submissions.
  • Assisting with the training and development of junior members of the payroll team.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with improving systems and processes and contributing to the continued growth of the department.

Requirements

  • Strong payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, payroll bureau, or another client-focused environment.
  • Previous experience reviewing payrolls and supporting or supervising junior colleagues.
  • Excellent technical payroll knowledge and a good understanding of current legislation.
  • A highly organized and accurate approach, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
