Location: Bristol
Contract: Full-time, 18-month fixed-term contract
Working Hours: 21.5 hours per week.

As one of the largest train companies in Britain, more than 100 million customers a year join us on board. When the Great Western Railway was built, it opened the West and Wales to trade and tourism. And now, along with our partners at Network Rail, we're proud to have the chance to look after your railway.

As well as electrifying our main routes, and upgrading key stations, we have carried out the biggest upgrade of trains in the country. The Procurement team have an essential role to play in the success of GWR through our strategic sourcing and our approach to supplier management.

About the job:

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Payroll team, supporting the delivery of accurate, efficient and customer-focused weekly and four-weekly payrolls across GWR and Heathrow Express.

The team manages payroll and pension data, ensuring processes run smoothly and colleagues are paid accurately and on time. You’ll also provide support to employees and external organisations, responding to payroll queries and helping to resolve issues.

You’ll be responsible for processing high volumes of payroll data, producing reports where required and working across multiple payroll entities. This is a varied role where accuracy, compliance, flexibility and a strong customer focus are essential.

Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you’ll play an important role in delivering a payroll service that supports colleagues across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
