Payroll Supervisor – Reading

In this role you'll be overseeing payroll services for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate payroll processing while supporting and developing junior team members.

We're working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Reading that is looking to recruit a Payroll Supervisor following continued expansion.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to take the next step in their career. You'll join a people-focused firm with a fantastic reputation, working closely with clients while helping to oversee the day-to-day running of the payroll function.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a varied client portfolio
  • Reviewing payroll work to ensure accuracy and compliance with current legislation
  • Acting as the main point of contact for payroll-related client queries
  • Submitting RTI returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
  • Managing pension submissions, statutory payments and year-end payroll processes
  • Supporting, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior payroll team members
  • Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and client service

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates with previous payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, bureau or payroll environment. Experience supervising or mentoring others would be beneficial, although applicants looking to step into their first supervisory role are also encouraged to apply.
