Payroll Transformation Specialist — Contract, On-site, London/Essex
We're hiring a hands-on Payroll Transition Specialist for a leading global fintech to deliver complex payroll transformation across EMEA.
This is a delivery role, not governance or PMO. Based on-site in London/Essex, you'll work directly with payroll teams, vendors and stakeholders to take two major programmes through to stable go-live:
- Payroll vendor changes in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands
- Migration of Germany's ADP Streamline payroll to ADP Celergo
What you'll own:
- End-to-end payroll testing — strategy, detailed test scripts, execution and defect resolution
- Parallel runs, reconciliation and sign-off ahead of go-live
- SOPs, procedures and operational documentation
- Training internal payroll teams on new platforms, processes and country legislation
- Embedding controls: approval frameworks, reconciliation, audit-ready documentation

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
