Job Description:

We are excited to be recruiting for a PCB Engineer to collaborate on the Global Combat Air Program (GCAP). This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of the most cutting-edge PCB designs, across a wide variety of technologies, multi-layer analogue and high-speed digital, power and specialist comms and interfaces at ultra-high frequencies 40GHz and beyond.

Your Impact:

You will collaborate with Hardware and Microwave engineers across varied projects to develop innovative PCB layouts, from import of schematics, component creation and placement. Followed by routing of high-speed power and mixed signals for thermal management and electromagnetic compatibility. Finalising the designs with accurate design documentation (Gerbers, Assembly drawings and BOMs). You will use and develop your skills to deliver complex designs, whilst utilising the latest Siemens toolchain whilst complying with the latest defence and industry standards to meet the requirements of the project and ensuring optimal performance and manufacturability.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the new era of aircraft defensive systems with the option to work largely remotely, with occasional trips to Bristol or Luton.

What you will bring:

Experience of:

  • Creating complex multi-layer PCBs with multiple design interfaces, which may include RF, digital, FPGA, power supply and mixed-signal circuitry.
  • Ability to read schematics and design PCB’s in accordance with the design intent.
  • Familiarity with high pin count parts, high-speed signal routing, differential pairs and standard interfaces, such as SMA, SMP and USB.
  • Validating design data to ensure compliance with supplier capability.
  • Creating manufacturing output data packs, to company standards.
  • Participating in project meetings and providing advice to electronic engineers relating to design rules for PCB tools, materials and substrate technology.
  • Liaising with external suppliers, PCB Assembly houses and PCB Fabricators.
  • HNC/HND or relevant degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
