What are we looking for?

Malloy Aeronautics is looking for a PCB Test Engineer to join our Electronics Manufacturing team. We are seeking a detail-oriented engineer or technician with experience in PCB and electronic assembly testing who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in delivering high-quality products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK

What You’ll Be Doing (but Not Limited To)

  • Test printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies for installation in our unmanned aerial vehicles.
  • Perform functional and diagnostic testing against defined specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify, investigate and report test failures, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Carry out component and assembly testing in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
  • Inspect assemblies for defects, including component placement, orientation and workmanship issues.
  • Use hand tools, test equipment and measuring devices safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate test records and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with training and supporting other team members as required.

Essential Skills And Experiences

  • Previous experience testing PCBs and electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret and follow test procedures and work instructions.
  • Understanding of electronic components and PCB assembly processes.
  • Ability to identify and correct component placement and orientation issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills And Experiences

  • Previous experience as a Test Engineer, Electronics Technician or similar role.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards and electronic manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting root cause investigations and process improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety requirements within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working within a regulated or high-reliability industry such as aerospace, defence or automotive.
