PCW & Credit Strategy Lead – Credit Cards
6-month contract | 3–5 days per week | UK
I’m looking for a specialist who really understands the intersection of Credit Risk, Credit Cards and Price Comparison Websites (PCWs) for an interesting 6-month assignment.
This isn’t a traditional Credit Risk role. The challenge is to help a major player in the UK cards market get much smarter about who sees which products, through which PCWs – and ultimately which customers enter the application funnel.
The goal is simple: better targeting, better customer outcomes and a more profitable mix of business – without simply sacrificing volume.
You’ll lead the development of a targeted PCW strategy, using pre-filters and existing customer/risk analysis to optimise the balance between:
- Application volume
- Click-to-sale conversion
- Credit quality
- Profitability / ROTE
- Customer & product mix

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The assignment will include:
- Defining the optimal customer, product and risk mix across different PCWs
- Designing and testing generic pre-filter / product visibility strategies
- Quantifying the commercial and risk trade-offs of changing those filters
- Developing a practical framework that allows the business to turn those levers quickly as market conditions change
- Creating a sensible segmentation of PCW partners rather than treating every aggregator in the same way
- Bringing Product, Pricing and Credit Risk together around clear ownership, governance and decision-making
I’m particularly interested in people who have actually done this, rather than those who have simply worked around it.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You may have come from a credit-card issuer, consumer lender, PCW/aggregator or eligibility/decisioning environment, but you'll need to understand how acquisition strategy, eligibility, pricing and credit appetite interact in the real world.
Experience of PCW strategy, credit-card acquisition, eligibility/pre-qualification, new lending strategy, portfolio economics or credit-risk optimisation would all catch my attention.
This could particularly suit a senior Credit / Acquisition Strategy specialist who has moved into independent consulting and can come in, shape the approach, implement it and leave behind something the business can continue to operate.
If you’ve worked directly on optimising credit-card acquisition through PCWs, I’d be very interested in hearing what you’ve done.
