PECS Teaching Assistant – Southwark

Location: Southwark

Contract: Temporary

Pay: £100–£125 per day PAYE

The opportunity

Senovo is recruiting a PECS Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN education setting in Southwark. The successful candidate will join a committed team focused on helping children and young people access learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide consistent classroom, one-to-one or small-group support.
  • Follow EHCPs, learning plans and strategies agreed by teaching and SEN staff.
  • Adapt resources and communication so pupils can participate and progress.
  • Support positive behaviour, emotional regulation, independence and wellbeing.
  • Share clear observations with teachers, therapists and pastoral colleagues.

What we are looking for

  • Relevant experience with children or young people in education, SEN, care, therapy, youth or community settings.
  • Patience, reliability, professional boundaries and strong communication.
  • A practical understanding of safeguarding and inclusive support.
  • Useful experience includes sen, autism support, communication needs, PECS, safeguarding, SEN classroom support.
  • QTS is not required for this support role.
