Volunteer Role: Peer Review Panel Member (Professional Conduct Committee)

Location: Remote
Term of Appointment: Three years
Start Date: January 2027
Remuneration: Voluntary with reasonable expenses reimbursed

Company Overview

Ciarb is a global professional membership body committed to promoting effective dispute resolution and its benefits to society and economies worldwide. We champion arbitration, mediation and adjudication, set robust ethical standards, and provide qualifications, learning, research, resources, events, mentoring and networking opportunities.

In 2024, Ciarb revised its Disciplinary Rules to:

  • streamline the disciplinary process;
  • separate investigations from disciplinary decision-making and sanctions; and
  • reserve the Disciplinary Tribunal for the most serious misconduct, with the Professional Conduct Committee considering lesser sanctions.

We are now seeking Peer Review Panel Members from across Ciarb’s global regions: the UK, Europe, East Asia, Australia, the Americas, Ireland, Africa, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent.

About the Role

The Peer Review Panel provides impartial expertise and assists Ciarb staff or the Board with matters within the Panel’s remit. This may include complaints and investigations, the preparation of reports, and issues relating to Ciarb’s Presidential panels or panel membership.

Panel Members will contribute directly to upholding professional standards and supporting a fair, consistent and effective disciplinary process. The role also provides an opportunity to strengthen skills in evidence evaluation, analysis and structured decision-making while working with experienced peers from Ciarb’s global network.

Key Responsibilities

Peer Review Panel Members may be required to:

  • consider complaints of alleged misconduct made against Ciarb members in accordance with Ciarb’s Disciplinary Rules;
  • review documents and other evidence;
  • establish the relevant facts;
  • work with fellow Panel Members to categorise complaints;
  • prepare clear and evidence-based reports; and
  • advise or assist Ciarb staff and/or its Board on matters requiring impartial expertise.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
