About the Role

We are looking for experienced group facilitators to support our peer-to-peer support group sessions for people directly and indirectly affected by cancer. This may include people who have received a cancer diagnosis, as well as family members, friends, carers and others whose lives have been impacted by someone close to them experiencing cancer.

We recognise that cancer can affect far more than the individual receiving treatment. These sessions are intended to create opportunities for people with shared or related experiences to connect, talk openly and feel less isolated in what they are going through.

Facilitators will help create a welcoming, respectful space where participants can share experiences, listen to one another and build meaningful connections with others who may understand some of the challenges they are facing.

This is a facilitation role, not a therapeutic role. Facilitators will not be expected to provide counselling, therapy, clinical advice or mental health treatment. Their role is to guide the session, encourage balanced and respectful participation, maintain appropriate boundaries and help create an environment in which participants feel comfortable communicating with one another.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing our required internal facilitator training before leading sessions.
  • Facilitating peer-to-peer group sessions in line with our framework, guidance and boundaries.
  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment for people directly and indirectly affected by cancer.
  • Encouraging open communication and connection between group members.
  • Helping ensure that everyone who wishes to contribute has an appropriate opportunity to do so.
  • Maintaining clear boundaries between peer support, facilitation and therapeutic intervention.
  • Managing group dynamics sensitively and appropriately.
  • Following relevant safeguarding, confidentiality and escalation procedures.
  • Completing the required documentation promptly following each session.
  • Raising any concerns or incidents through the appropriate internal channels.
  • Attending occasional internal meetings, briefings, training or facilitator check-ins when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our groups are intended to bring together people whose lives have been affected by cancer, whether directly through their own diagnosis or indirectly through the experience of someone close to them. The purpose is to encourage peer connection, shared experience and open communication, helping participants connect with people who may understand aspects of what they are experiencing.

Facilitators create and maintain the conditions for those conversations to happen safely, respectfully and constructively. The sessions are not therapy, counselling or clinical support, and facilitators should not diagnose, treat, counsel or provide clinical advice to participants.

A key part of the role is understanding and maintaining this distinction while knowing when a concern should be escalated through the appropriate safeguarding or support pathway.

Commitment

Sessions will initially take place approximately once per month, with each session lasting around 45–55 minutes.

As consistency and trust are important within peer-support environments, we are particularly interested in facilitators who can make a reliable ongoing commitment rather than applicants looking for occasional ad-hoc work.

There may also be occasional internal meetings, briefings or training requirements associated with the role. Details regarding arrangements for these will be provided during the recruitment process.

How to Apply

Please submit your application through LinkedIn, including details of your previous group facilitation training and experience. Shortlisted applicants may be asked to discuss how they would approach common facilitation scenarios as part of the selection process.
