Job Description: Peer Support Leads
We are seeking 2x Peer Support Leads to provide lived experience leadership across place-based peer support services. This role will support culture change, community engagement, partnership working, and the development of inclusive, recovery-focused peer support. The post holder will supervise and support Senior Peer Support Workers, lead training and workforce development, strengthen links with locality teams and community partners, and help ensure services are accessible, ethical, and representative of the communities they serve.
We are seeking 2x Peer Support Leads to provide lived experience leadership across peer support services across (Waltham Forest & Redbridge) and (Havering & Barking and Dagenham).
Peer support workers play a vital role in connecting services with communities and promoting recovery-focused, inclusive mental health support.
The Peer Support Lead will use their lived experience, leadership, and community-focused expertise to provide place-based professional leadership for peer support, with a specific focus on staff wellbeing, culture change, community engagement, group development, and partnership working.
The post holders will sit directly under the Head of Peer Support and will be responsible for leading on peer support projects, strengthening relationships with locality teams, communities, and partner organizations, and ensuring peer support services are inclusive, accessible, and representative of the populations they serve.

The role will have direct responsibility for Senior Peer Support Workers and will work closely with Peer Support Workers, patients, operational colleagues, and external partners to support strategic objectives, service development, and workforce wellbeing.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health, and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137 per annum, pro rata for part-time).
OR
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,346 and a maximum payment of £2,270 per annum, pro rata for part-time).

Although we are a registered sponsor organization, we are unable to offer sponsorship for all job roles. Please check your eligibility under the UKVI points-based system. When calculating the basic salary for sponsorship, HCAS (High-Cost Area Supplement) is not included to ensure fairness and consistency within our Trust.
