Cyber Security Penetration Test Engineer

📍 Gaydon | Hybrid/on-site working
đź’Ľ Permanent opportunity with Akkodis

Akkodis is looking for an experienced Cyber Security Penetration Test Engineer to join our automotive cyber security team.

You’ll support the secure development of connected vehicle systems, working across ECUs, embedded systems and complete vehicles. The role combines hands-on penetration testing with test planning, vulnerability reporting and coordination of external security suppliers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Creating penetration test scopes and plans for ECUs, systems and vehicles
  • Executing penetration tests against embedded automotive systems
  • Reviewing penetration test results and producing vulnerability reports
  • Developing and maintaining scripts and tools for penetration and fuzz testing
  • Demonstrating vulnerabilities, attacks and proofs of concept
  • Supporting engineering teams with vulnerability investigation and resolution
  • Managing external penetration testing suppliers and their activities
  • Supporting Cyber Security Management System artefacts and type approval
  • Delivering testing in accordance with ISO 21434 requirements

What we’re looking for

  • Automotive or embedded systems penetration testing experience
  • Knowledge of vehicle networks, embedded software, ECUs or vehicle connectivity
  • Experience creating penetration test plans, scopes and technical reports
  • Scripting experience using Python, CAPL or another relevant language
  • Knowledge of TARA, cyber security concepts and ISO 21434
  • Experience with vulnerability analysis, fuzz testing and proof-of-concept development
  • Understanding of secure software and hardware design principles
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with engineering teams and external suppliers
