Pension Calculation Analyst
6-Month Contract | £500-£550 per day (Inside IR35) | Fully Remote
Experienced Pension Calculation Analyst to join a highly regarded pensions team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a pensions specialist with strong Defined Benefit (DB) scheme knowledge and a deep understanding of UK pensions legislation, including GMP and contracting-out requirements.
The Role
As a Pension Calculation Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing pension scheme documentation and developing accurate, efficient, and maintainable calculation solutions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and third-party advisers to ensure high-quality delivery across all project activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements, Trust Deeds & Rules, and scheme documentation to design appropriate calculation solutions.
- Produce detailed pension calculation specifications and calculation proformas from first principles.
- Develop and support automation testing packs.
- Liaise with actuaries, solicitors, and other third parties to resolve complex technical queries.
- Ensure high standards of quality and accuracy across all deliverables.
- Support the development and optimisation of end-to-end pension calculation automation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
- Manage workloads effectively and deliver against agreed deadlines.
- Provide a professional, client-focused service at all times.

Requirements
- Strong background in UK Occupational Pensions, specifically Defined Benefit (DB) schemes.
- Excellent understanding of UK pensions legislation and historical legislative developments.
- Strong knowledge of Contracting Out requirements, including Guaranteed Minimum Pensions (GMP).
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within virtual teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Experience establishing standards, processes, and best practices.
