Pensions Specialist
Hybrid Working – London – 2/3 days a week on site.

Lorien's leading banking client is looking for a Pensions Specialist to provide operational pension support while contributing to a key pension transition project. The role will cover monthly pension processing, data reconciliation, employee queries, annual pension activities and transition-related data work across multiple Group entities.
The successful candidate will have strong Defined Contribution (DC) pensions experience, excellent Excel and data analysis skills, and a good understanding of pension taxation and payroll processes.
This role is based in London.
This role will be Via Umbrella.
Working in a Hybrid Model of 2/3 days a week on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly pension contribution process, including pre-commit and post-commit payroll activities across multiple Group entities.
- Complete pension file reconciliations, investigating and resolving data or contribution discrepancies.
- Liaise with Payroll, HR and pension providers to resolve queries and implement required updates.
- Manage simple and complex pension queries from employees and former employees via pension and HR support channels.
- Support annual pension activities including pensionable salary reviews, annual data renewals and bonus waiver processes, covering calculations, communications and provider payments.
- Provide additional operational support during high-volume and business-critical pension periods.
- Support the pension transition project, taking ownership of the Data Workstream and working with the payroll provider to reconfigure pension reports.
- Coordinate the testing and rollout of pension reporting across seven Group companies.
- Review pension data and reports, identify issues and coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and update pension procedures, controls and internal documentation following transition activities.

Essential Experience & Skills

- Several years' experience within the Defined Contribution (DC) pensions industry.
- Strong practical knowledge of pensions administration and pension processes.
- Working knowledge of UK pension tax rules.
- Experience with pension contributions, payroll processes and data reconciliation.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, calculations, reconciliation and data manipulation.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to investigate and resolve both straightforward and complex pension queries.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across Payroll, HR, pension providers and wider business teams.
- Ability to manage BAU pension activities alongside transition/project deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
