HR Services are looking for a Pensions Technical Advisor to join the Payroll and Pensions Service Team. The primary function of the role is to provide professional assistance and support on all pension matters. The team works closely with a wide range of SME colleagues from the internal HR community to deliver a coordinated service to the business.

The HR Technical Pensions Senior Assistant will support the smooth running of the Pension function within the HR Services function of Central Business Services.
- Support and provide guidance to the Payroll and Pensions Support team on more complex cases and may be required to deputise for the Pension Manager when necessary.
- Providing day-to-day Pension support to employees, people leaders, and partners across Deloitte UK on Processing of Death in Service cases.
- Ensuring the monthly statutory opt-out process is completed on time.
- Completing new Pension Knowledge Articles for the benefit of employees to answer common queries. Also reviewing and maintaining existing pension KA’s to ensure they remain accurate and up-to-date.
- Ensuring the pension team records are maintained, reports run, and that the activities assigned to team members are completed in a timely manner to ensure standards are met for internal and external compliance obligations.
- Assisting the Finance Team with their pension-related queries to reconcile any discrepancies they have – attending regular Teams meetings and answering email queries.
- Attend weekly Partner Services meetings to ensure the requirement of Life Cover for partners is managed.
- Attend meetings with Firm’s Tax if they have pension-related queries.
- Manage and maintain the new File Exchange Sites which replaced Sharefile, to ensure confidential information is shared securely and safely.
- Ensure the weekly HR Data errors reports are extracted and sent to the relevant HR team to deal.
- Along with the equity partner processes noted above, review and update existing SOPS to ensure accuracy and relevance if any changes are made.
- Monthly processing of the IOM pension contributions via the Aviva portal ensuring contributions are both accurate and sent on time.
- Processing of the monthly reclaim to Standard Life to ensure any contributions to be refunded are made.
- Maintaining any changes as required on the Pensions intranet- including any changes in practice so employees can be confident that the information is both up-to-date and relevant.

- Demonstrated expertise in managing a high volume of cases, ensuring timely resolution while mitigating risk and considering both legal and commercial implications, escalating when appropriate to the management team or HR SME colleague.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effectively influencing and persuading others and articulating thoughts and ideas in a composed manner to instill confidence in others.
- Actively identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency, participate in efforts to support and embed change across HR Services and the wider HR function as well as engaging with continuous service improvements.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness & risk management which includes an understanding of the current environment within which we operate and an ability to adapt recommendations or advice as appropriate.
- Demonstrate a methodical, analytical, and clear approach to problems using appropriate tools and technologies to help identify key trends.
- A strong advocate for data integrity and compliance, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping of all employee relations matters within the case management tool (Service Now).
- Other skills include:
- A confident delivery of verbal and written communications with excellent attention to detail.
- An ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to influence through personal credibility.
- Adaptable to change and ways of working.
- Software skills: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and specific HR applications – of these, SAP and ServiceNow are preferable.
- Industry knowledge: An experienced Pension professional that has come from either a professional services environment or alternatively a fast-paced demanding Pension Role.
