Pensions Governance & Professional Trustee Opportunities, UK Wide

BWD is supporting a leading professional trustee business that is looking to speak with pensions professionals at several stages of their career.

The opportunities range from people building their first meaningful experience in trustee governance, through to more experienced professionals already managing clients, schemes and senior stakeholder relationships.

This is a strong route for people who want broader exposure across pension schemes, closer involvement with trustee boards and a long-term career within professional trusteeship.

Depending on your level, the role could involve:

  • Supporting professional trustees across a portfolio of pension schemes
  • Preparing for and attending trustee meetings
  • Producing high-quality minutes, actions and governance documentation
  • Coordinating with advisers, sponsors and other stakeholders
  • Supporting governance reviews and wider pension scheme projects
  • Helping ensure decisions are followed through effectively
  • Building knowledge across funding, investment, administration, risk and scheme strategy
  • Taking increasing ownership of clients and scheme activity
  • At more senior levels, managing relationships and supporting more junior colleagues

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

There is flexibility on level.

For someone earlier in their career, the opportunity would provide strong exposure to governance and trustee work.

For more experienced candidates, there is scope to take greater ownership of client relationships, more complex governance activity and broader scheme responsibilities. The business is particularly interested in people who want to build a long-term career in professional trusteeship rather than simply move into another support role.
