Pensions Litigation Lawyer (3-8 PQE)

Join one of the UK's leading specialist pensions litigation teams, where your expertise will contribute to some of the most significant and complex pensions disputes in the market. Pinsent Masons is seeking a qualified Solicitor (3-8 PQE) to join our growing Pensions Litigation team in Manchester or London. This is an opportunity to work on high-value disputes, regulatory investigations and market-leading contentious pensions matters, while collaborating with recognised specialists in the field.

As one of the few firms in the UK with a dedicated pensions litigation practice, we offer lawyers the opportunity to develop genuine specialist expertise in an area that combines technical legal analysis, strategic dispute resolution and regulatory advisory work. Whether your background is in pensions litigation, commercial litigation or professional indemnity disputes with pensions exposure, this role presents an outstanding opportunity to further specialise within a highly respected team.

The Opportunity

You will play a central role in advising clients on a broad range of contentious pensions matters, from high-profile disputes and regulatory investigations through to trustee advisory disputes, pensions equalisation issues and remedial litigation. Working closely with partners and colleagues across our wider pensions practice, you will have access to a breadth and quality of work that few firms can offer.

  • Advising on high-value pensions disputes, including trustee disputes, member claims and complex contentious pensions matters
  • Supporting clients through regulatory investigations and enforcement activity involving The Pensions Regulator
  • Acting on remedial litigation matters, including Part 8 claims, rectification applications and scheme construction disputes
  • Advising on pensions equalisation issues, systemic scheme errors and large-scale member complaint matters
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across the wider pensions practice to deliver integrated and commercially focused advice
  • Building strong client relationships, supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of our specialist pensions litigation practice
  • Taking ownership of matters and working proactively within a partner-led team environment that encourages autonomy and development

About the Team

Our specialist Pensions Litigation team forms part of a wider pensions practice of over 70 lawyers and advisers, giving us one of the strongest pensions offerings in the UK.

The team is led by recognised specialists including Partners Hayley Goldstone and Charlotte Scholes and advises a diverse client base including:

  • Pension scheme trustees
  • Corporate sponsors and employers
  • Financial institutions
  • Professional services organisations
  • Some of the UK's largest pension schemes and household-name clients

We are recognised for our technical excellence, commercial pragmatism and ability to advise on some of the most complex pensions disputes in the market. Our lawyers benefit from working alongside highly experienced specialists while receiving direct access to high-quality work from the outset.
