  • Participate in design and ensure implementation of project management strategy to successfully manage and deliver projects meeting the cost, timescale and quality parameters in line with overall objectives and needs, Trustee and Group guidelines and policies.
  • Responsible for monitoring developments in the pensions industry and, where relevant, implementing changes to processes and communicating these to the team.

Reports to the Head of Trustee Governance.

Your Tasks

  • Providing support to the Head of Trustee Governance and the Trustee Board in implementing annual business plan and strategic business plan.
  • Taking a lead role in any projects relating to the Administration of the Plan including those involving benefits calculations and member data (for example, GMP equalization / conversion).
  • Supporting the relevant working groups with their oversight of the project delivery and their challenge of budget proposals and monitoring the agreed budgets (such budgets could be as high as c.£5m).
  • Taking the lead on the delivery of the Pensions Dashboard and its ongoing maintenance on behalf of the Trustee.
  • Working on ad-hoc projects as determined by Head of Trustee Governance.
  • Taking responsibility for maintaining the Trustee’s Data Management Plan, including the management, monitoring and where appropriate, rectification of member date. Overseeing any data audits (regular and adhoc) and taking responsibility for agreeing the contractual terms with the Pensions Operations Committee (POC) and stakeholder management of the contracts on behalf of the POC.
  • Providing support and governance oversight with any systems changes and IT Maintenance. Ensuring the appropriate controls and process are in place and are regularly tested.
  • Working with the Trustee’s cyber risk management advisers to ensure cyber security reviews of third parties are completed, and actions / recommendations are followed up to a satisfactory outcome.
  • Taking responsibility for the maintenance and testing of the Trustee’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Incident Response Plan (IRP) and for ensuring the Trustee’s advisers and suppliers have appropriate BCPs and IRPs in place.
  • Taking a lead role in supporting the production of the members’ annual benefit statements and the development of the member’s website and APP and ensuring they are legally compliant.
  • Being the subject matter expert for the Governance Team for knowledge of members’ benefit and data requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
