People Adviser (Generalist)
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation with offices including Dundee, Edinburgh, Cambuslang, and Aberdeen, are currently looking to recruit an HR Generalist for a 3-month contract on a rate of £25.78/hour PAYE (35 hours). Remote working with occasional onsite attendance required.
Working on a range of short-term projects that support the organisation’s readiness for the Employment Rights Act (ERA) 2025, effective People policies, and performance improvement. Reporting into the Strategic People Partnering team, the role will focus on employment legislation, people policy work, and supporting procedures. Professional discussions (via MS Teams) are scheduled for 28th and 29th September with an anticipated start date in early-mid October.
Responsibilities:
Working with colleagues and stakeholders, the postholder will:
- Design and deliver interventions to support the organisation's readiness for forthcoming legislative and statutory changes associated with the Employment Rights Act 2025. This includes:
- (a) Sexual Harassment and related protections ('all reasonable steps');
- (b) Menopause Support (working with our Wellbeing colleagues);
- (c) Analyzing any risks associated with implementing the ERA 2025.
- Develop, review, and implement People and employment-related policies and procedures. The policy portfolio will be shortly confirmed using a risk-based prioritisation approach.
- Drive people analytics and performance activity by reviewing existing data and reports, assessing key performance indicators, and identifying and implementing improvements.

Essential Skills:
- Degree level qualification
- Associate Diploma in People Management; Organisational Learning and Development
- Associate membership of CIPD or equivalent body relevant to the role
- Demonstrable experience as an HR Generalist / Business Partner
- A comprehensive, working knowledge of current employment legislation and People-related policies.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Experience of using information, feedback, and evaluation to support continuous improvement.
- The ability to develop clear, accessible resources and guidance.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced and supportive team.

Driving Licence desirable.
Desirable Skills:
- Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management or Strategic Learning and Development
- Chartered Membership of CIPD
- Experience providing workforce metrics and analysis reports
- Experience in leading and managing projects and teams
- Experience of working in a changing environment
- Experience of operating in a unionised environment
