At St Nicholas Hospice Care, you’ll use your HR experience to help the colleagues who make our care possible. We’re looking for a proactive, people-centred adviser to join our welcoming People Team and help create a positive workplace where everyone feels valued and able to thrive.
About the role
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. Working closely with managers and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll provide practical guidance across the employee lifecycle, helping managers handle employee matters confidently, fairly and consistently.
You’ll coordinate recruitment and onboarding, advise managers on employee relations matters, contribute to wellbeing and learning initiatives, help improve our people services and play an active role in people projects. The role also includes line management responsibility for our People Administrator.

We’re looking for someone who is warm, credible and solutions-focused, with the confidence to build strong relationships and provide practical advice to managers and colleagues.
You’ll ideally have:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards it), or equivalent experience.
- Experience providing HR advice to managers.
- Experience handling a range of employee relations matters.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to balance competing priorities and work independently.
- A practical, proactive approach and a genuine passion for helping people.

Contract Details:
£35,402 per annum, Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)
