Role Overview
In a Nutshell…
We have an exciting opportunity for a People Advisor to join our Vistry Services team, within this role you will be covering 2 regions in the Midlands and Vistry Services. As our People Advisor, you will be working closely with Managers and employees across assigned regional Business Units to provide day to day generalist HR Support. The role has an employee relations focus which involves guiding and coaching internal stakeholders to ensure matters are dealt with in an appropriate, professional manner, as well as supporting with employee engagement, employee development, policy & procedure and other people related matters. The role is part of a UK wide People Team and will involve participation in project work to support Vistry’s overall People Strategy.

This is a 6 month Fixed term Contract

In return, what we would like from you…

- 5 GCSE’s/GCEs or equivalent including Maths and English
- CIPD level 3 or higher
- A background in HR with experience of dealing with complex employee relations matters
- Good working knowledge of employment law
- Good understanding of what drives employee engagement
- Excellent analytical, organisation and prioritisation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent at using Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work to high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- An understanding of GDPR
- Good team working skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to deal with ambiguous situations in a professional manner, and make appropriate decisions
- A can-do attitude with the ability to respond positively to change
- High level of emotional intelligence
- Full driving licence
- A willingness to travel to assigned regional business units on a regular basis and on occasion stay away from home to attend team meetings

- Experienced in using AI to drive productivity in an HR setting
- Experience of working with various HR systems

More about the People Advisor role…
- Monitor regional People KPI’s, collaborating with the People Business Partner and regional management to drive improvements in performance and productivity
- Collaborate with People Team colleagues to ensure all HR policies are current and reflect current employment legislation
- Advise employees on HR Policies and support managers with effective policy implementation
- Provide coaching and development to regional management teams on dealing with employee relations, including delivery of ER Skills workshops
- Support regional management with employee relations cases including (but not limited to) disciplinary; grievance; performance improvement; consultations; family matters and flexible working requests
- Proactively support regional management with short and long term absence management cases, including Occupational Health referrals where necessary
- Maintain an accurate record of all ER cases in the case management system and ensure all appropriate documentation is produced and filed appropriately
- Support assigned regions to ensure all new starters, including new managers, are onboarded efficiently as part of the employee journey, and that they understand relevant people related processes and procedures
- Conduct exit interviews, and develop action plans in partnership with the People Business Partner and regional management
- Work with assigned regions on employee engagement initiatives, including attendance at regional employee engagement forums
- Attend regional board meetings as required to provide cover and support
- Provide management data and insights to support regional management with informed decision making
- Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as needed
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
