People Advisor

Location

The Lightbox, Quorum Park, Benton Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EU

Contract Type

Permanent, full time

Salary

£30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)

About the role

We’re looking for a People Advisor who enjoys combining practical HR advice with thoughtful support for managers and colleagues. You’ll work across a broad range of people matters, with a particular focus on employee relations, absence, performance and helping managers resolve issues early.

You’ll manage routine to moderate cases, coach managers through the right steps and know when to bring in a People Partner or Lead People Advisor on more complex matters. You’ll also work closely with our People Operations, Resourcing, Payroll and Learning and Development teams so that advice leads to clear actions and accurate records.

What you will be doing

  • Advise and coach managers on employee relations, absence, performance, probation and other people matters.
  • Manage routine to moderate disciplinary, grievance and capability cases, supporting fair processes and clear documentation.
  • Help managers plan conversations, investigations, meetings and follow-up actions.
  • Spot risk early and escalate sensitive or complex matters through the right route.
  • Support people change, policy improvements and People Strategy projects.
  • Use case themes and workforce information to identify where managers or processes need more support.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
