People AI Enablement Specialist
Job Description Summary
Our People team is transforming how we support colleagues by using technology, data and AI to deliver smarter, simpler and more personalised experiences. We are focused on reducing manual effort, improving service quality and enabling our people to spend more time on the work that adds real value.
We are looking for an AI Specialist to design, build and operationalise AI-enabled solutions that enhance the People function services, automate people processes and generate meaningful insights from our people data.
This role will play a key part in embedding AI safely and responsibly across the HR function, supporting everything from operational support, learning & delivery, communications and engagement to workforce insights and operational efficiency.
Working under the guidance of the People Systems Manager and reporting to the Head of People Support & Experience (HRSS) you will span the breadth of the People function to identify the AI solutions against core business use cases and problem statements that ultimately improve colleague experience, increase productivity and strengthen decision making.
Responsibilities
AI-enabled People automation
- Design and implement AI-powered solutions to automate repetitive HR processes and administrative activities.
- Develop intelligent workflows that improve employee and manager self-service across the HR lifecycle.
- Embed AI capabilities within HR technology platforms, knowledge management tools and service delivery processes.
- Support the adoption of generative AI solutions that improve productivity while maintaining appropriate governance and controls.
People Insights
- Working closely with the People MI Manager, develop and maintain data pipelines that support AI models and advanced people analytics.
- Ensure high-quality, well-governed HR data suitable for AI applications.
- Apply AI and machine learning techniques to identify trends, predict workforce outcomes and generate actionable insights with the goal to develop predictive models that support workforce planning, retention and employee experience.

AI Governance and responsible use
- Ensure AI solutions comply with data protection requirements, internal governance and ethical AI principles.
- Build transparency and appropriate human oversight into AI-enabled processes.
- Monitor AI performance and implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve effectiveness and accuracy.
- Contribute to standards, policies and best practice for AI adoption across the People function. Represent the People Systems function in relevant governance, prioritisation and transformation forums.
People Systems Roadmap and Product Ownership Oversight
- Develop AI solutions that support case management, knowledge retrieval and intelligent recommendations.
- Improve the quality and consistency of People support through AI-assisted decision making.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve service performance and enhance colleague experience.
- Partner with People, AI COE, IT and business stakeholders to identify and deliver high-value AI solutions to appropriate use cases
Team coaching and skills development
- Assist with ongoing adoption and skills advancement across the People function.
- Partner with the AI Champions to provide insight, learning and knowledge sharing to build operational resilience and continuous efficiency.
- Partner with the AI Centre of Excellence to stay ahead of the Company’s AI strategy and assist with disseminating this to the People Function.
The Individual
Capability, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience designing and delivering AI solutions within a business or operational environment.
- Strong understanding of AI, machine learning and generative AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs).
- Experience working with cloud-based AI services and modern data platforms.
- Knowledge of HR systems such as SAP, GPT, ServiceNow, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms.
- Experience building AI-powered assistants, chatbots or knowledge management solutions.
- Experience in integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems and workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business challenges into AI solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- A strong understanding of responsible AI, data governance and GDPR requirements when working with employee data.

Desirable
- Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.
- Experience implementing AI within HR, People Services or shared service environments.
- Experience using AI to improve HR operational efficiency, reduce manual processing and enhance employee self-service.
- Familiarity with people analytics, workforce planning or predictive workforce modelling.
- Experience supporting organisational adoption of AI technologies through change management and user enablement.
