About Us
We’ve been roasting speciality coffee for over 30 years. From humble beginnings as a little coffee cart in Auckland, NZ, Allpress has evolved into a sophisticated brand that stands for flavour and service. Right from the start three core principles have formed the backbone of our business – People, Flavour and Innovation.
We are united in our genuine care for each other, our customers, and our belief in what we do. We need great people who will bring their imagination, skills and most importantly, their passion to our business.
About the Role
We are looking for a People and Culture Leader to step in and support our UK team and its leaders on all People & Culture matters and to build on our great culture over the coming 12 months. Reporting to the Global People & Culture Manager Allpress and sitting on the UK leadership team, you’ll help us to deliver our global people strategy so that Allpress can continue to be an amazing place to work. This is a senior generalist role covering all things people - culture and engagement, full people cycle and employment relations. In this role, you will be the standalone P&C expert for the UK business.
You will act as a true strategic peer to leadership, offering confident counsel and constructive challenge, while rolling up your sleeves to manage core operational P&C delivery. We have an exciting people agenda over the next 12 months!
This is a fixed-term 12-month parental leave contract that starts in November 2026.
You will:
- Act as an equal, trusted advisor to senior leadership. Coach and guide department leaders on team dynamics, difficult conversations, and leadership effectiveness.
- Drive a culture where people leaders own their teams. Rather than acting as a bottleneck for everyday P&C matters, you will equip, upskill, and hold managers accountable to lead empathetically and decisively.
- Lead People & Culture initiatives across a post-change environment, ensuring role clarity, sustained morale, alignment, and retention through transition.
- Confidently switch between high-level advisory and hands-on execution, overseeing employee relations, compliance, policy formulation, recruitment, onboarding, and day-to-day P&C administration.
- Balance regulatory rigor and solid P&C mechanics with an approachable, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent presence across all levels of the business.
- Collaborate with the global P&C team to deliver key people initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
You’re an experienced P&C practitioner who believes great P&C isn’t about policing policy, it’s about enabling people and building capable leaders. You know your craft inside and out, but your real strength lies in how you apply it: with genuine empathy, emotional maturity, and high approachability.
You thrive when working autonomously and aren’t precious about jumping between high-level advisory and hands-on execution. Crucially, you know how to hold your own with senior leaders. You don’t just say ‘yes’, you ask the right questions, offer candid perspective, and coach leaders to step up and lead their own teams with confidence. If you've helped an organisation steady the ship through change and loved the challenge of it, you’ll feel right at home.
Ideally, you hold a relevant qualification/degree, ideally CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma or are qualified by experience.
