Role Overview

We're looking for an organised, mature, and creative Office and People Manager to be the cultural heartbeat of Meatly while maintaining good office and people operations. You'll be the person who makes the office work, keeps our people processes running smoothly, and helps define and sustain the culture we've built as we grow. This is a broad, hands-on generalist role reporting directly to the CEO. You’ll need sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately, while creating an exceptional culture for people to thrive. This role will be full-time, in-person at our pilot facility in North Acton, London

Key Responsibilities

Internal Comms and Culture

  • Helping sustain the culture and values work already underway at Meatly
  • Company-wide staff updates and internal communications
  • Organising team events, socials, and parties
  • Running monthly and quarterly team surveys, and helping act on the results

Training and Development

  • Coordinating training programmes and tracking completion/compliance
  • Supporting onboarding development plans and identifying development needs across the team

People Operations

  • Onboarding and offboarding: contracts, right-to-work checks, equipment, induction
  • Maintaining accurate, GDPR-compliant HR records
  • Recruitment coordination: scheduling, applicant tracking, liaising with hiring managers
  • Maintaining and updating the Employee Handbook and HR policies
  • Benefits and pension administration

Office Management

  • Day-to-day office operations: supplies, equipment, facilities upkeep
  • Working with our Facilities and Lab managers to ensure health & safety compliance (fire safety, risk assessments, first aid provisions)
  • Vendor and supplier relationships (cleaning, IT support, landlord liaison)
  • Visitor management

Finance

  • Managing staff expenses and processing invoices
  • Acting as the primary interface between staff and the external accounting team
  • Liaising with our finance function on basic day-to-day financial admin

About You

  • Proven experience in an office management, people operations, or HR generalist role, ideally in a small or scale-up company
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise competing demands across different departments
  • Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Confident handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professional judgement
  • Creative ability to bring people together through events and communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, lean start-up environment where resourcefulness is key
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • A proactive, “figure it out” attitude — this is a hands-on role in a small team

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to shape the people and operational foundations of a pioneering company
  • Salary: £35,000–£45,000, depending on experience
  • Ability to participate in our share option scheme
