About Us ✈️

Planes is the product studio for the AI age, partnering with leading businesses to bring the next wave of breakthrough products to market. We're a team of thinkers and doers who care about building things that make it into the world. That means we prefer shipping code, listening to users and iterating quickly rather than long lunches and death by powerpoint. We work collaboratively with our partners to produce work that we are proud of and our clients love.

🤖 AI at Planes

We recognise the enormous potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance creativity, efficiency and quality across our work. But we don't believe AI replaces craft. Quite the opposite. In a world where AI can produce almost anything, judgement, taste and product thinking matter more than ever. We're looking for people who are curious, thoughtful and excited to experiment, and who want to help build the next wave of digital products using the tools of tomorrow.

What We're Looking For 💫

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

People

  • Facilitate the employee lifecycle: onboarding, off-boarding, contracts and HR administration.
  • Gather employee feedback and suggest initiatives to leadership.
  • Run the hiring pipeline: writing job ads, sourcing candidates and arranging interviews.
  • Be the go-to for employee questions and needs: responsive, thoughtful, easy to reach.
  • Be responsible for our Employer Brand.

Culture

  • Plan and run team events, socials, and L&D initiatives

Operations

  • Manage supplier and vendor relationships, contracts and renewals (software tools, for example).
  • Sort IT and equipment for new starters.

Studio

  • Keep the studio stocked, organised and a genuinely great place to be.
  • Own the studio calendar, room bookings, and day-to-day office operations

Admin Assistance

  • Support leadership with meeting bookings.
  • Welcome visitors, and help teams set up rooms and catering for workshops.

We'd like you in the studio four days a week (nominally Monday to Thursday) so you can own the studio side of the role and help build a great office culture.

You'll also own a People and Studio budget in this role. Planes has a remote EA who you will be able to collaborate with on tasks.

How We Work

We hold each other to four behaviours at Planes. Here's what they look like in this role:

  • Energy Builder. You're the person who sets the vibe of the studio. You spot when someone needs support, and celebrate people’s wins. The studio feels lighter and better run because you're in it.

  • High Agency. You own outcomes rather than tasks. A smooth-running studio, a healthy hiring pipeline and a team that feels looked after are yours to deliver, and you find a way through the constraints rather than waiting to be asked.

  • Standard Setter. You hold a high bar for the people experience, from a new starter's first day to the way an all-hands feels. The onboarding, the events and the comms are all ace.

  • Curious. You're excited to learn, to try new tools (we lean on AI heavily), and to share what you find.

Requirements

  • Experience in a people, HR, operations or office-management role. Agency experience is a bonus.
  • Comfortable with HR basics and employment processes. You don't need to be a lawyer, but you know when to ask one.
  • Highly organised, with sharp attention to detail and a knack for keeping many moving parts in the air.
  • A problem-solver with the confidence to work things out.
  • Warm and approachable; the kind of person people feel they can bring anything to.
  • Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive information.
  • Proactive. You notice what needs doing and just get it done.
  • Excited by building and improving processes, not just maintaining them.
  • Comfortable picking up new tools quickly. We use Notion, Slack and Shapes mainly.

Our Benefits 🌴

  • 25 days holiday, not including one extra day for your birthday and closure over Christmas
  • An extra optional 20 days to take each year unpaid. This is to help you take those extended breaks
  • Pension with Nest
  • Personal Learning and Development budget of £250
  • Yearly bonus; this is from our profits and we aim for the pool to be 10%. We also make sure this hits your account before Christmas so you can use it in the break 🎉
  • Access to the cycle to work scheme
  • Enhanced Parental Leave. This is a gender-neutral policy where you can take up to 4 months of parental leave at full pay, at any time within the first 18 months of your child's life
  • Partnership with Spill for all our team to have access to free therapy sessions.
