The Role
Are you keen on starting a career in HR within a creative and supportive environment? We are looking for someone open and friendly to join our People team. You must be switched on and have a can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will be proactive and be able to think on their feet. Good time management skills and attention to detail are a must, and discretion and confidentiality is paramount.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all new joiners receive a best-in-class welcome to VCCP.
- Managing the new joiner process; ensuring approval has been obtained internally, preparing offer letters, requesting references, managing staff verification process, drawing up contracts, liaising with IT & office management, advising induction organisers of new joiners, and preparing a lovely ‘welcome’ bag!
- Prepare and process variations to contract letters and associated documentation resulting from changes to an individual’s circumstances such as promotion/ transfer, changes to hours of work, salary increases, notice period changes, etc.
- Input and maintain all employee data on the HR system as well as the HR Employee List, ensuring that People, IT, Facilities, Finance, and Payroll are kept up to date with all new joiners and leavers.
- Update the HR system with new joiners details, job title change, change to notice period, salary changes etc.
- Assist with Ad School, our work experience programme and The Table, our Entry Level Scheme.
- Keep a record of any permanent new joiners who hold a visa.
- Manage the leaver process, informing payroll of all leavers.
- Manage the freelancer process, in line with IR35.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Maintain HR records, ensuring all employee information is treated professionally and confidentially in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
- Audit of HR files as required.
- Monitor and book probation periods, including issuing email confirmation of outcome of probationary review, either confirming successful completion or notifying the People Partners of an intended extension to probation or termination letter where appropriate.
- Help manage the People Team inbox.
- Assist the wider People Team as required and respond to ad hoc queries.
- Keep up to date with frequent changes in employment law.
