WHERE YOU SIT

As our People Assistant, you’ll be part of the People team working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Head of People GSC. You’ll be right at the heart of fast-moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers - today and tomorrow.

WHERE YOU CONTRIBUTE

The People Assistant plays a key role in delivering efficient, responsive and people-focussed service across MIE and the UK Distribution Centre. This role is responsible for supporting the smooth delivery of People processes and ensuring an excellent employee experience across all of our UK operational environments.

Working closely with managers, employees and COE’s, the HR assistant will provide first-line support on all employee queries, compensation and bonus processes, and initiatives that drive engagement, performance, wellbeing and a safe working environment.

Core Accountabilities

As our People Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing day-to-day People support, managing employee queries, maintaining accurate HR records, producing reports and ensuring People processes are compliant and consistently applied.
  • Coordinating the MIE bonus and incentive scheme, ensuring accurate and timely calculations, responding to employee and manager queries, and supporting ongoing scheme reviews.
  • Supporting managers with routine employee relations matters in partnership with the ER COE, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and timely escalation of complex cases.
  • Supporting performance, engagement and development processes, including annual pay reviews, objective setting, recognition initiatives and training coordination, while identifying opportunities to improve employee experience and retention.
  • Supporting health, safety and wellbeing across the operation, including absence monitoring, wellbeing initiatives, health surveillance and occupational health processes, helping to foster a safe and healthy working environment.

Key Skills & Capabilities

Put simply, the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Previous experience in an HR Assistant, HR Coordinator or HR Administration role, with a good understanding of HR processes and employment legislation.
  • Strong administrative, organisational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident handling confidential information and using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Experience working effectively in a fast-paced operational environment with a proactive and collaborative approach.
