The UK People Associate

The UK People Associate is a trusted partner to our Operations Team, helping drive a high-performing, people-first culture during a period of growth at Blank Street. This role supports stores across the UK market, partnering closely with Assistant General Managers and General Managers to strengthen teams, elevate performance, and support the employee experience.

This role blends strategic partnership with hands-on execution and is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, builds strong relationships quickly, and operates with sound judgment and professionalism. You’ll partner with field leaders on employee relations, performance management, coaching, engagement, and talent development while proactively identifying trends and opportunities across the business. This role is based in-person out of our London office, reports to the UK People Business Partner. There will be occasional travel to other regions expected as part of this.

What You’ll Own

ER and People Compliance

  • Provide first-line support on employee relations cases, including attendance, absence, performance, conduct, and wellbeing, escalating more complex issues where appropriate.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and employment practices are applied consistently and in line with UK employment legislation and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate case records and support managers with documentation, investigations, and compliance reporting.

HR Advice and Support to Managers

  • Act as a trusted first point of contact for people queries, coaching managers on day-to-day people matters and best practice.
  • Support managers to build high-performing, engaged teams through effective people conversations, feedback, and performance management.
  • Partner with operational leaders to ensure people decisions align with company values and business objectives.

Support on People Projects

  • Contribute to the delivery of People initiatives across areas
  • Coordinate project activities, communications, and stakeholder updates to ensure successful implementation across the business
  • Gather feedback and insights from the field to help evaluate the impact of People programmes and recommend improvements.

Bubbling Up Trends from the Field

  • Analyse people data and feedback to identify emerging trends across stores, including attrition, absence, engagement, and ER themes.
  • Share insights and recommendations with the People team to support proactive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with managers to understand operational challenges and ensure the voice of the field informs People priorities.
