Pay Range: £ 34,400 - £ 55,120
Placement within the salary range will vary depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.

Location: Onsite presence required across Bristol and Abingdon sites (approximately 2 days per week at each location, with flexibility on the fifth day)

Position Summary

The People Business Partner serves as a partner to leaders across the North Atlantic region (UK, Ireland, Nordics and Benelux), partnering with the business to build organisational capability, enable high performance and deliver sustainable business growth.

As a trusted coach, advisor and change leader, the role translates business strategy into people priorities, influencing leaders to make effective decisions that strengthen talent, engagement, organisational effectiveness and culture. Working closely with the Director, HR EMEA, regional leadership teams and global HR colleagues, the People Business Partner leads the delivery of integrated people solutions while ensuring consistency with Bio-Techne values, policies and leadership expectations.

The role combines strategic partnership, organisational development, talent management and employee relations expertise, supported by the HR Operations team for transactional and administrative activities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership Coaching and Capability Building

  • Coach and develop leaders to strengthen management capability, team effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Support leaders in navigating complex people challenges with confidence and accountability.
  • Enable managers to hold meaningful performance, development and career conversations.
  • Foster a coaching culture that promotes ownership, empowerment and continuous improvement.

Talent Management and Organisational Effectiveness

  • Identify critical talent, retention risks and capability gaps, developing targeted action plans.
  • Partner with leaders to design organisational structures that support business objectives and future growth.
  • Support promotion, career progression and workforce planning decisions through objective talent assessment.

Performance and Accountability

  • Drive a high-performance culture through effective performance management practices.
  • Coach leaders on performance expectations, recognition, development planning and performance improvement.
  • Support calibration and consistency across performance and talent processes.
  • Enable leaders to effectively manage underperformance while maintaining fairness and compliance.

Employee Experience and Culture

  • Champion Bio-Techne's EPIC values and support leaders in creating an inclusive, engaging and high-performing environment.
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen employee engagement, wellbeing and retention.
  • Act as a culture ambassador, reinforcing behaviours aligned with organisational values.
  • Support change initiatives, ensuring employees remain informed, engaged and supported through transitions.

Employee Relations and Compliance

  • Lead complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Partner with managers to resolve workplace issues effectively and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Assess organisational risk and recommend appropriate interventions.
  • Ensure adherence to employment legislation, company policies and HR governance standards across assigned countries.

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Build deep understanding of business objectives, workforce challenges and organisational priorities to provide proactive people solutions.
  • Partner with leaders to align people strategies with business goals, ensuring the organisation is equipped to meet current and future needs.
  • Use data, insights and business acumen to identify trends, risks and opportunities, influencing decision-making and workforce planning.
  • Provide balanced, commercially focused advice while effectively managing risk.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, challenging constructively and supporting informed decision-making.

People Projects and Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or contribute to regional and global People initiatives that enhance organisational effectiveness and employee experience.
  • Support the implementation of strategic HR programmes, change initiatives and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
  • Share best practices with HR colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement across the EMEA HR function.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR Business Partner or People Partner experience within a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with leaders to solve business and organisational challenges.
  • Strong employee relations experience across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience coaching leaders and influencing stakeholders at various levels.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.

Preferred

  • Experience within a global matrix organisation.
  • Experience supporting multiple countries across EMEA.
  • Experience with organisational design, talent management and change initiatives.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional HR accreditation.
