People Business Partner - Projects
- Full time 37 hours per week (flexible working arrangements including part time will be considered)
- 12 months FTC
- Salary – from £48,028 + Benefits
- Location – Pity Me, Durham
About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our People team as a People Business Partner - Projects, playing a key role in delivering strategic people priorities that help Northumbrian Water Group achieve its business objectives through its people. The role supports Senior People Partners, and Centres of Expertise to plan, coordinate and deliver projects and initiatives that make a real difference across our business.
Our sector is experiencing significant growth and transformation, and you'll work collaboratively across the organisation to support delivery of key projects linked to our People Strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys project-based work, stakeholder engagement and turning great ideas into practical solutions. You'll coordinate and deliver people projects, facilitate workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions, and bring together a variety of stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of key people initiatives.
You'll work closely with operational leaders, Senior People Partners and subject matter experts to support the planning, coordination and delivery of strategic people priorities. This includes managing people projects and initiatives across areas such as colleague terms and conditions, organisational design, engagement, inclusion and change. You'll help ensure projects are delivered effectively, with clear plans, governance and stakeholder engagement.
You'll manage project plans, monitor progress, identify risks and dependencies, and provide meaningful reporting and insights to stakeholders. Using people data and evidence-based recommendations, you'll help evaluate outcomes, identify opportunities for improvement and support the successful delivery of projects across the business.
The role will also involve designing and facilitating workshops, events and working groups, building strong internal networks, and sharing innovative approaches and best practice to support continuous improvement across our People function.
Please note this role will require a DBS to be completed prior to employment.

We're looking for someone who is CIPD qualified and has significant HR experience working with a range of stakeholders across a complex organisation. You'll have proven experience of engaging, influencing and constructively challenging managers and senior professionals, whilst building strong and trusted partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, including Trade Unions.
You'll have experience of successfully delivering and embedding people programmes and initiatives, monitoring outcomes and evaluating impact. You will have supported talent development and talent mobility activities, helped improve colleague engagement and worked collaboratively to create inclusive and positive workplace cultures.
We're looking for someone who can combine strong project delivery skills with excellent stakeholder management. You'll be highly organised, comfortable managing multiple priorities and able to coordinate activity across a range of projects and workstreams.
You'll Also Bring:
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied portfolio of activity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce reports and project updates.
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to identify insights, trends and opportunities from people data.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for finding innovative solutions to business challenges.
- The ability to build effective, collaborative and trusting relationships at all levels of the organisation.
