People and Culture Lead

As People and Culture Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of People in the development and implementation of our overall people and culture strategy. Your primary focus includes shaping and embedding a high-performance, inclusive, and values-driven culture across the organisation.

This role leads on employee experience, engagement, EDI, Employee Resource Groups, reward, wellbeing, people insights, and governance, ensuring a consistent and positive experience across both site-based and office teams.

Working closely with colleagues in Recruitment, HR Business Partnering, HR Information Systems, Learning & Development and Talent Management, the role ensures that people initiatives are aligned, data-informed, and support workforce planning, retention, and business performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

People Strategy & Culture

  • Support to deliver the People & Culture strategy aligned to business priorities.
  • Define and embed company values and behaviours and support embedding of Farrans Leadership Model.
  • Collaborate with the wider People and Engagement Team to ensure an integrated approach to employee development.
  • Support workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning efforts across functions.
  • Act as a cultural ambassador, championing initiatives that foster engagement, inclusion, wellbeing, and retention.
  • Establish and oversee Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
  • Own and deliver employee engagement surveys and action planning.
  • Align HR policies and working practices to embed a standardised approach.
  • Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across People & Culture processes, identifying opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, compliance, and the overall employee experience.
  • Support organisational change efforts by providing training, communication, and resources to employees during periods of transition.
  • Support the Head of People with data analysis and reporting on key HR metrics and KPIs.

  • Support the Head of People in managing the reward and benefits strategy within the business.
  • Advise managers and employees on pay, benefits, and reward practices in line with company policy and legislative requirements.
  • Support the communication and promotion of the organisation’s benefits offering, ensuring employees understand the value of their overall reward package.
  • Support locally led recognition initiatives that encourage and celebrate employee contribution and reinforce organisational values.
  • Coordinate annual salary review in collaboration with business leaders.
  • Ensure fair and transparent reward and recognition practices.
  • Support the preparation and governance of the organisation’s gender pay gap report.
  • Support the governance and implementation of the EU Pay Transparency Directive, ensuring appropriate processes, reporting, and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and align with organisational goals.
  • Strong understanding of the following: Culture, engagement, and behaviour frameworks; Inclusion & Engagement practices; reward and benefits principles; workforce planning and people analytics.
  • Project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or professional certifications.
  • 5+ years of experience in a generalist HR role with ownership of People & Culture initiatives and significant exposure to Reward & Benefits principles.
  • Demonstrable experience driving culture change and engagement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of People & Culture best practices.
  • Passionate about people and culture.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a changing environment.
  • Inclusive mindset with a commitment to equality and diversity.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused.
