People & Culture Manager

Full time | On-site

A Stage Unlike Any Other

In 1863, a group of artists, writers, and free thinkers gathered with a shared conviction: that the finest conversation, the boldest ideas, and the warmest hospitality belonged together under one roof. Charles Dickens dined here. Whistler argued here. Rodin was inspired here.

The Arts Club was born not as a venue, but as a living expression of creative life — and it has never stopped.

At the heart of that life today are the people and spaces that bring our club to life every day. This is more than an operation — it is an environment where members connect, create, and return time and time again because something about it feels truly special.

It takes an exceptional person to be part of that.

That person might be you.

Be part of building an exceptional workplace where people and performance thrive together.

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded People & Culture Manager to join our People & Culture team. Reporting to the People & Culture Director, you will play a key role in driving a positive workplace culture, delivering robust people practices, and supporting leaders across the business to develop high-performing teams.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys balancing operational excellence with strategic people initiatives in a fast-paced, service-led environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities.
  • Partner with managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance issues.
  • Coach and develop leaders on people management best practices and UK employment law.
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing and recognition initiatives that strengthen culture and retention.
  • Manage probation and performance review processes across the organisation.
  • Support compensation and benefits activities, including salary benchmarking and annual review processes.
  • Support learning and development programmes, with particular focus on leadership and management capability.
  • Produce and analyse HR metrics to support informed business decision-making.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the People & Culture team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you

  • Minimum 6 years' People & Culture experience, ideally within hospitality, luxury, service-led or similarly fast-paced environments.
  • At least 1-2 years' experience managing HR team members and leading key people initiatives, with hands-on responsibility for employee relations, recruitment, performance management and leadership development.
  • Confident across employee relations, recruitment and learning & development — efficient, practical and always thinking about the bigger picture and what will matter long term.
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • A natural coach who enjoys developing managers and helping teams do their best work (and not dreads performance conversations).
