Description
Overview of the Role
The People & Culture Senior Specialist is the operational engine of business partnering, employee relations, recruitment delivery, and workforce planning at IFX. Working closely with the People & Culture Senior Manager, the Senior Specialist translates strategy into day-to-day delivery: managing ER cases end-to-end, partnering directly with managers, owning recruitment delivery for the business alongside the Talent Operations Associate, and applying the job levelling framework consistently as the organisation grows.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned managers and teams, understanding their needs and translating them into people-focused solutions.
- Support managers through organisational and team changes, advising on people implications and ensuring alignment with established frameworks and processes.
- Support the delivery and application of workforce planning initiatives, including organisational design, job levelling, succession planning, and career pathways.
- Develop management capability through coaching, guidance, and proactive partnership.
Employee Relations
- Manage employee relations cases end-to-end, escalating complex or high-risk matters to the People & Culture Senior Manager or Director as appropriate.
- Advise managers on employee relations matters, balancing legal and commercial considerations with company culture and values.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee relations records, documentation, and case files.
- Partner with and guide hiring managers through the recruitment process for entry-level through to management positions.
- Support the Talent Operations Associate in delivering end-to-end recruitment processes across the business.
- Continuously improve recruitment processes to drive positive business outcomes and deliver an excellent candidate experience.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of the recruitment target operating model (TOM).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
