About the Role
Location: Newcastle
Reporting to: People Systems & Insights Lead
The Role: Go-Ahead Group is seeking a People Data Analyst to support the improvement, cleansing and assurance of people data across Group and Operating Companies. Reporting to the People Systems & Insights Lead, this role will help ensure people data is accurate, consistent and ready for HCM implementation, while supporting reporting, Power BI dashboard development and better use of insight across the business.
Responsibilities
- People Data Quality, Cleansing & Assurance
- Support the development of clean, consistent and reliable people data across Group and Operating Companies, identifying gaps, duplicates and data quality issues.
- Carry out regular data validation, reconciliation and cleansing activity to support HCM readiness, reporting accuracy, audit requirements and improved data confidence.
- Work with Operating Company People Leads and People Services colleagues to resolve data issues at source and promote consistent data standards.
- Maintain clear data trackers, issue logs and action plans, escalating risks, dependencies and unresolved data quality concerns where needed.
- HCM Implementation Data Preparation
- Support data preparation for HCM implementation, including data mapping, cleansing, formatting, testing, validation, migration checks and documentation of repeatable processes.
- Reporting, Dashboards & Insight
- Prepare accurate regular and ad-hoc people reports, support Power BI dashboard development, use Excel to analyse data and translate outputs into clear commentary and visual summaries.
- Stakeholder Support & Continuous Improvement
- Act as a practical point of contact for people data and reporting queries, identify opportunities to simplify processes and handle sensitive people data professionally and securely.

Qualifications
Experience working with people, payroll, workforce or operational data in a reporting, analyst, HRIS or shared services environment.
Required Skills
- Advanced Excel capability, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data validation, cleansing, reconciliation and confident handling of large datasets.
- Experience producing accurate reports, management information or dashboards for operational and/or senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting system implementation, data migration, HCM readiness, HR system optimisation or data preparation activity.
- Power BI experience is desirable, alongside an understanding of data mapping, data migration, system testing, data governance or reporting controls.

- Highly accurate, methodical and detail-focused, with strong analytical curiosity, a practical delivery mindset, collaborative approach and professional discretion when handling confidential people data.
