🚀 People Director/Lead People Partner – Corporate Functions - Series C
Hybrid: 4 days per week in the office
Salary: £130,000–£145,000 base
Location: London
The opportunity:
We’re partnering with a high-growth European fintech that has scaled significantly and continues to invest in its next phase of growth.
Operating in a fast-paced, ambitious and entrepreneurial environment, the business is continuing to evolve its organisational structure and capabilities to support significant future growth.
They are now looking to appoint a People Director to take ownership of business partnering across their Corporate Functions, predominantly Finance, Legal and Risk, supporting a population of approximately 150 employees.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this is a highly visible position with significant exposure to the executive leadership team.
The role:
This is much more than a traditional HR Business Partner position.
You’ll act as a trusted strategic partner to the CFO, Chief Legal Officer and Chief Risk Officer, helping them think through how their functions need to be structured, developed and transformed as the business continues to scale.
Alongside the core business partnering remit, there will be an opportunity to lead broader strategic People initiatives, including strengthening the bridge between People and Finance and helping shape organisational design across the wider corporate infrastructure.
Key responsibilities will include:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Building a strong connection between Finance and People, bringing together headcount, organisational and commercial thinking.

What we're looking for
We’re looking for an established People Director, Lead HR Business Partner or senior-level People Partner who has operated with genuine executive-level stakeholders.

- Strong experience in organisational design, transformation and workforce planning.
- A highly commercial and analytical mindset, able to connect People decisions with financial and organisational priorities.

- Excellent attention to detail while retaining the ability to think strategically about the wider organisation.
- Confidence to challenge senior leaders constructively and bring a clear, well-informed point of view.
- The ability to operate with significant autonomy and take ownership without requiring extensive direction.

This opportunity will particularly suit someone who understands the reality of working within a genuinely scaling business. The organisation isn’t looking for somebody who simply implements a People agenda. They want someone who can sit opposite a CFO, CLO or CRO, understand their commercial objectives and help them design and transform their organisations to deliver against them.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
