The Position
We're looking for a Senior People Manager to own the full employee lifecycle, from proactive recruitment and onboarding through to learning and development, employee relations and engagement, across our Indian Brand restaurants and Head Office. You'll report into our Head of People and be based at Head Office, with weekly visits out to sites and more as needed to keep those relationships strong. It's a role that sits right between strategy and day to day people operations, so you'll need to be as comfortable delivering efficient, empathetic HR support on the ground as you are thinking ahead for the brand, with your own People Team to mentor along the way.
- Own end-to-end recruitment across your sites, from vacancy approval through to offer and start date, taking a proactive, pipeline-led approach rather than hiring reactively
- Partner with site managers on job descriptions and person specs, then source, screen and interview candidates yourself
- Manage the offer process, including right to work checks, referencing and contract issuance
- Act as first point of contact for HR, ER and L&D matters across your restaurants, coaching site teams and escalating where needed
- Lead, mentor and develop your own People Team, building their capability to take on more over time
- Keep compliance watertight, from statutory HR requirements to skilled worker sponsorship
- Build and deliver training bespoke to site needs, and drive career pathway completion across your remit
- Own engagement, wellbeing and ED&I initiatives, and help bring our benefits to life for operational teams
- Oversee onboarding from Family Welcome through induction, then probation chats and regular appraisals
- Deliver monthly people metrics and reporting, from time to hire to turnover and labour costs, for senior leaders
- Maintain the highest standards of health and safety compliance across your remit
- Bring a hands-on, visible presence to the sites you support, while still thinking and operating strategically

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
