Location: Sheffield (Hybrid, 80% office-based and 20% field-based)
Type: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 per annum

We're looking for a People Manager – Field Services to join Cura Terrae Water. This is a key leadership role responsible for the direct management, development, and wellbeing of our Field Engineers and Water Survey Teams. Working closely with Operational and Technical Field Managers, Programme Managers, and Project Managers, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our field operations are safe, efficient, and delivered to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will bring strong people management experience, a passion for developing others, and a proven ability to lead large field-based teams in a fast-paced operational environment.

The Role:

  • Lead, coach, and support Field Engineers and Water Survey Teams, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and employee development.
  • Support employee wellbeing and handle day-to-day people management matters.
  • Work closely with Operational and Technical Managers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of field projects.
  • Coordinate resources and field activities, helping projects meet quality, safety, and delivery objectives.
  • Lead and enhance the field training programme, developing team capability and career progression opportunities.
  • Monitor competence, performance, and quality standards, driving continuous improvement across field operations.
  • Promote compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company standards.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication and excellent customer service.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience managing, recruiting, onboarding, and performance-managing large teams of field-based employees
  • Experience in a field-based operational, supervisory, or management role
  • Background within the water, utilities, environmental, or a related sector is desirable
  • Experience coordinating people, resources, and schedules across multiple projects or operational activities
  • Experience identifying and implementing operational improvements
  • Strong understanding of performance management and employee development practices
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business systems
