The Opportunity:
Hawkwood is partnering with a growing international professional services business to hire a People Operations Advisor into a newly created role.
With over 400 employees and global teams across four continents, the business has grown significantly while retaining an entrepreneurial, people-first culture. As that growth continues, there is now an opportunity to further strengthen its People function and create greater consistency in the employee experience globally.
The business has already invested in a modern People technology stack spanning recruitment, core HR, performance, and development. The next step is making far more of that investment: improving how systems are configured and connected, simplifying processes, identifying opportunities for automation, and ensuring the People team is operating as effectively as possible.
Reporting into a senior People leader, this is a broad global role also offering additional exposure to L&D and HR advisory work. You’ll have genuine scope to bring ideas, challenge existing ways of working, and build greater sophistication into how People Operations is delivered.
What you'll do:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
