🚀 We’re on a mission to make real estate transactions smarter, faster, and friction-free.
🏢 Real estate is the world’s largest asset class, yet the legal processes and tools behind it remain slow, manual, and underinvested. Lawyers must review dense documents line by line and piece together information across silos, all while clients demand faster, more transparent due diligence.
🤖 That's where we come in. Orbital Copilot is the AI assistant built exclusively for commercial real estate law. Developed with former practicing real estate lawyers, it accelerates complex due diligence by up to 70% while delivering legal-grade precision.
💰 We’ve just raised a $60m Series B to accelerate our UK/US expansion.
🤝 We're trusted by leading firms like Goodwin and BCLP to remove the busywork so legal teams can focus on what they do best: applying sharp legal judgment, delivering standout client service, and getting deals over the line faster.
đź’ˇ Working at Orbital means joining a team that's reimagining how real estate transactions get done - moving fast, working collaboratively, and giving people the ownership to make a real impact from day one.
Role summary
This is a hands-on People Operations role focused on keeping the day-to-day running accurately and on time. The main priority is to take ownership of recurring, time-sensitive work across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding and payroll inputs to benefits administration and data accuracy, so that the People team can focus on higher-value work.
The role suits someone who takes pride in doing the basics really well, is comfortable with imperfect or evolving processes, and can work independently once the requirement and guardrails are clear. There is genuine opportunity to improve and automate processes over time, but only after the core work is being delivered reliably. This is not the right role for someone whose primary interest is AI or automation workflow design.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Responsibilities and duties
- Own the operational side of the employee lifecycle, including new joiner setup in HiBob, onboarding coordination, payroll inputs, benefits administration and straightforward employee queries.
- Keep People data accurate and up to date, ensuring changes are recorded correctly and the source data used for reporting can be trusted.
- Support background screening operations, tracking checks through Zinc, following up outstanding items and ensuring completed information is accurately reflected in HiBob.
- Manage deadlines, dependencies and missing information, following work through to completion and escalating issues before they create risk for candidates, employees or the business.
- Improve how the work is done over time, by documenting processes, tightening controls and suggesting practical workflow, system or automation improvements once the day-to-day operation is understood.
Background and experience
- Experience in People Operations, HR Operations or a similar coordination role, with clear evidence of personally owning recurring operational work.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when handling payroll information, contracts, screening, onboarding, deadlines or sensitive employee data.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation, with the ability to manage competing requests and hard deadlines without needing constant direction.
- Comfortable working with an HRIS, spreadsheets and operational trackers, and able to spot inaccurate, incomplete or inconsistent data.
- Experience in a scaling or early-stage environment where processes may still be manual, unclear or evolving, and where good judgement is needed rather than simply following a fully established process.
- A proactive and service-minded approach: able to work within defined guardrails, communicate clearly, follow through and escalate appropriately.

Particularly useful experience
- HiBob or a comparable HRIS.
- Payroll-input administration, UK benefits administration or background screening coordination.
- Improving a manual People Operations process through clearer controls, documentation or proportionate automation.
Important positioning
This is not a strategic People Partner, systems-architect or automation-first role. The core of the position is accurate, hands-on operational execution. The opportunity to improve and automate processes grows from first understanding and reliably running them.
- Flexible working arrangements considered for the right candidate (60–80% FTE).
🔒 Security is everyone’s responsibility at Orbital. We ask all team members to follow our security policies, complete regular awareness training, and handle sensitive data with care in line with ISO 27001 standards. Spot something unusual? Reporting risks or incidents quickly helps us maintain the strong culture of security and compliance we all depend on.
💡 At Orbital, we’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We especially welcome applications from people who are traditionally underrepresented in tech. Even if you don’t meet every single requirement, or if the right role isn’t listed yet, we’d still love to hear from you.
