About the opportunity
Via is partnering with a fast-growing consumer business looking for a People Partner to join its lean People team. Working closely with the Head of People & Talent, you'll help build and improve the frameworks, programmes and processes that support employees and managers throughout the People lifecycle. This is a broad, hands-on role combining People partnering, employee relations, People Ops and project work. You'll coach managers through day-to-day people challenges while also building practical programmes around onboarding, performance, development, engagement and ways of working.
You'll have plenty of scope to create rather than simply maintain existing processes. The business is particularly interested in making its People function smarter and more efficient through automation and AI. The company operates remotely, but you'll need to be based in or around London and comfortable travelling into the city a couple of times each month for team events and other in-person activity.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with managers across the business on day-to-day People matters
- Coach managers through employee relations, performance and team challenges
- Help managers address issues early and confidently
- Build practical People frameworks, tools and processes
- Develop and improve onboarding and probation processes
- Create manager playbooks, toolkits and guidance
- Develop 1:1, goal-setting and performance frameworks
- Support employee growth, development and progression
- Lead People projects from initial idea through to implementation
- Gather feedback and data to understand what's working and continuously improve programmes
- Support and deliver employee engagement initiatives
- Run engagement surveys and analyse the results
- Help managers turn engagement insights into practical actions
- Own core People Operations processes, including contracts and employee administration
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive People processes
- Explore how AI can improve People operations and employee experiences
- Improve systems and ways of working so the People function remains lean and effective
- Help create connection and engagement across a distributed workforce
- Plan and deliver regular in-person team events and get-togethers in London
- Work closely with the Head of People & Talent on wider People strategy

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
