The Role
The People Partner will work with and report directly into the People Manager. As a fast-moving business Soho House is looking for the right individual to be autonomous and be able to pick up multiple tasks and projects at once.
The role is pivotal in providing a proactive, empathetic, and accurate HR service in generalist HR, ER case work and project work.
The focus of this role will be to support the organisation with Employee relations and positively influence employee engagement, working closely with a number of departments in doing so. You will coach and guide line managers/team leaders in relation to performance management and support with the full cycle of recruitment.
Key Accountabilities
- Review of right to work documentation and compliance, escalating any issues
- Conduct monthly audit checks for expiring visas and documents, along with government checks to confirm working status
- Monitor existing core processes and procedures to ensure all functions receive a high standard of service, and suggest better ways of working.
- Ensure all employees receive Welcome to the team chat and a 90-day Coffee Chat and thereafter on a regular basis
- Support GMs in the facilitation of quarterly roundtables and provide feedback to People managers with recommendations on next steps
- Ensure all sites have a calendar of employee events and initiatives in place to recognise and reward employees in addition to those offered by the Company (Long Service awards, House Hero and Employee Member events)
- Support and advise managers on the probation process
- Support in the delivery of disciplinaries, note taking and holding investigations
- Experience of working with low level and complex ER cases.
- Ensure all non-management receive an Exit Interview and feedback is shared on a monthly basis with General Managers and Head Chefs and Support office.
- Maintaining and managing the House Hero initiatives between regions
- Working closely with the People Manager to support and manage employee relations cases such as Performance Management, Absence Management, capability, grievance and disciplinary. Escalating complex cases as appropriate to the Head of People Operations
- Stakeholder management with, Floor managers and wider operation team
- Play a critical role by effectively establishing and nurturing relationships with all employee as well as measuring and monitoring those relationships to determine whether objectives are being met
- Support the recruitment function by attending the weekly meeting and providing guidance and assistance where possible.
- Maintenance of Greenhouse adverts and working with sites to fill vacancies
- Review and own the internal movement process for employees requesting to transfer from sites, or stepping into a new role.
- This also includes mapping any internal development requirements with the Diversity, Learning and Inclusion teams.

Experience required
- Intermediate level proficiency of Microsoft Office
- CIPD qualified – Level 3 / 5 or working towards qualification (desirable, not essential)
- Excellent written and oral skills in English - Minimum GCSE C level
- ER Case work experience
- Strong IT and numeracy skills with experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
- Ability to switch between a variety of tasks
- Efficient and proactive along with high attention to detail
- Able to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
