About the role

The People Partner is responsible for supporting our Magic Office business functions, aligning business objectives with employees and management across their respective business area. The position will serve as a trusted business partner, problem solver and HR support to the leadership and management teams on people-related issues. The People Partner will act as an employee champion and change agent, supporting the People Partnering Director and wider People Team in delivering our People Plan to the Magic Office population.

You will work closely with our Head office teams and be responsible for supporting performance management, talent mapping and succession planning and driving change through our People Strategy. You will also partner closely with our wider people teams in Reward, Benefits, People Services and L&D and will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience in line with your business area requirements.

As a People Partner you will

  • Act as a single point of the contact for their business areas for all people related activity
  • Support the performance management process through educating, guiding and supporting line managers and assisting any activity around this
  • Manage all complex employee relations cases and educate your line manager population to understand how to manage ER in line with policy, process and best practice
  • Oversee the management of all Long-term Sickness (LTS) / Occupational Health Referral cases
  • Support the identification and preparation of personal development plans (PDPs) for CT key employees and high potential employees
  • Working with the GM(s), Commercial Director(s) and Head of HR, the RPP will identify employees ready for promotion and rotate our best talent across different functions, levels or geographies within the organisation
  • Actively identify gaps or development areas in People policies, processes and ways of working, proposing and implementing changes necessary to cover risks and improve efficiencies
  • Offer advice on HR trends, developments and technological advances – ensuring CT stays at the forefront and ahead of People practices
  • Build excellent relationships with your stakeholders ensuring HR is viewed as a key partner to help support the delivery of our commercial objectives
  • Support your business area on all compensation and benefit matters, working with the Reward and Benefit team on all salary review requests, year-end review and bonus allocation process
  • Utilise engagement survey results and listening groups to measure engagement levels across the business to ensure the People team have a strong understanding of current and future trends
  • Be a cultural ambassador across the business. Have a positive impact on our people and our culture at all times

About you

  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Pro-active, innovative, collaborative
  • Able to influence and communicate your own point of view
  • Methodical, logical, organised and calm under pressure
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Experience at HR Advisor/People Partner level within a retail business
  • CIPD Qualified preferred
