Hays Human Resources are delighted to be supporting a well-established and values-led educational organisation in the Liverpool area to appoint an experienced HR Partner.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with leaders to deliver pragmatic people solutions in a purpose-driven environment. Operating across multiple sites, you will partner with senior stakeholders, providing expert guidance on people matters while helping to shape a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.

The Role

Reporting into the senior People team, you will act as a trusted business partner to leaders, supporting a wide range of operational and strategic people initiatives. Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, employment legislation and people policies.
  • Managing complex casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and investigations.
  • Supporting organisational change programmes and workforce planning activities.
  • Coaching and developing managers to strengthen leadership capability and confidence.
  • Contributing to wellbeing, engagement and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.
  • Supporting talent development, succession planning and recruitment activity.
  • Using people metrics and insight to identify trends and inform decision-making.
  • Ensuring a consistent and legally compliant approach to people management practices.

About You

  • Previous experience within a true HR partnering or HR advisor role.
  • Strong employee relations expertise and current knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to influence, coach and challenge constructively at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Trade Union Experience
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience within education, public sector, not-for-profit or similarly regulated environments would be advantageous.
