Salary: £55K - £60K

Job Type: Full Time, Part Time, Permanent

We maintain a flexible working policy to allow for hybrid working when appropriate. Teams typically spend around 60% of their time in the office, although this may vary depending on project and business needs. At times you may need to attend the office up to 5 days per week.

SeeByte is now looking to recruit a People Partner to join our People team in Edinburgh.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to play a pivotal role in supporting stakeholders across the business. As a trusted partner, you will provide people guidance, lead employee relations activity, deliver people insights, and help shape the people practices that enable our teams to thrive. You will work closely with managers and senior leaders, using data, sound judgement and practical solutions to support case work, organisational growth and business performance.

Main Purpose of the Role

The People Partner is responsible for providing practical, commercially grounded people support to leaders and managers across the business. The role combines operational HR delivery with strategic partnering, supporting employee relations, organisational change, performance and development, reward, people systems and workforce insights. You will play a key role in building and continuously improving the people practices that support SeeByte's growth and success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders and managers across the business on workforce planning, performance, development, engagement and organisational change.
  • Manage employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance and capability matters, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Coach and advise managers on employment law, policy and people processes, balancing business needs with risk management.
  • Maintain and develop people policies and guidance in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Own and develop HR systems, ensuring high levels of data integrity, reporting capability and user experience.
  • Design and improve digital people workflows and employee experiences, identifying opportunities to simplify and enhance processes.
  • Implement reward and benefits processes, supporting managers with remuneration decisions and benchmarking activity.
  • Manage the payroll interface, ensuring all people-related changes are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Analyse people data and trends, providing insights and recommendations to support informed business decisions.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, ensuring a positive employee experience throughout.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition Lead to define role and skills requirements using SeeByte’s skills framework, ensuring consistency.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

We recognise that great candidates may bring different combinations of skills and experience. If you meet many, but not all, of the criteria below, we encourage you to apply.

Essential:

  • CIPD qualification is essential for the role.
  • Proven experience in an HR Business Partner, People Partner or Senior HR Advisor role.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including managing complex casework and advising managers on employment law and policy.
  • Sound understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience partnering with managers and leaders to deliver people solutions in a commercial environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience using HR systems and producing people data, reports and insights.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and make pragmatic, risk-based decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting organisational change, restructures or consultation processes.
  • Experience managing or developing HRIS platforms and digital HR workflows.
  • Experience with reward, benefits administration and payroll processes.
  • Experience designing employee experience initiatives, surveys or engagement programmes.
  • Experience working in technology, engineering, defence or other highly regulated environments.
