People Services Advisor - Norwich
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our People Team in Norwich as a People Services Advisor.
This role is perfect for someone with HR administration or co-ordinator experience who is ready to broaden their responsibilities, gain hands-on experience to employee relations, and develop as a HR Advisor within a supportive, collaborative team.
- Support the People Leads and managers with day-to-day employee relations activity, including grievance, disciplinary, performance, attendance, probation, and flexible working matters. This will involve coordinating and completing case-related administration, gathering information, supporting investigations, attending meetings to take notes, and preparing follow-up documentation
- Support and take the lead on projects as part of the overall People strategy
- Support People Leads in delivering HR consultancy services to clients across key people practices, such as disciplinary & grievance, sickness absence, redundancy, TUPE, contracts of employment, staff handbook – policies and procedures, family friendly procedures, and working time legislation
- Support with document control by maintaining and periodically reviewing policies, procedures, and templates, including internal documents and external consultancy templates
- Handle day-to-day employee phone and email queries in a timely and professional manner, ensuring clear communication, accurate information, and appropriate escalation where needed. Keep employees updated on progress and expected timescales.
- Update, use, and assist in the development of the HRIS system HiBob
- Keep up to date with best practice and develop an in-depth knowledge of HR and employment law
- Provide support to all team members to build knowledge and maintain effectiveness of the service at peak workload periods or annual leave
- Work must be undertaken to the highest possible standards, include self-checking of work and conduct themselves in accordance with the firm’s procedures and policies

Qualifications and Skills

- CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience
- Experience in a People/HR team and looking to take the next step into HR Advisory work
- Solid understanding of employment law and its practical application
- Strong working knowledge of HR policies and procedures
- Confident using technology and automation to improve team efficiency and the employee experience
- Knowledge and exposure to employee relations, sickness absence, and wellbeing case management
- Excellent communication skills with high attention to accuracy
- Positive, proactive attitude
- Pragmatic, commercial problem-solving skills that support both the partnership and its clients
