Position

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated People Advisor to join our team as a new role within our business, based on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to provide a focused advisory service, ensuring that professional, proactive, comprehensive and effective HR advice and support is provided to all members of staff.

As an ER/HR Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the business by providing expert guidance on employee relations matters and HR best practices. You will work closely with managers and employees to ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant handling of HR issues, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

We believe in fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment where every team member can thrive and contribute to the success of the organisation, and this role is key to ensuring they have a thorough approach to all employee relation casework and that all relevant policies and procedures are adhered to in order to ensure the People strategy, objectives and key performance indicators are implemented effectively across the company.

Responsibilities And Duties

You will be the first point of call for all employees, but more than this you should be making the employee experience better within the Agena Group to support our people's success in their roles. Good to us is someone making suggestions to constantly improve our ways of working, making suggestions on future projects, rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in! This role comes with a variety of tasks, we won't list them all, but you certainly won't be bored.

People Administration

  • Proactively monitor and respond to the HR inbox, keeping to SLA
  • Handle general HR inquiries and provide information to employees regarding policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate employee records and the HRIS
  • Ensure all return to works are complete for cases of absence
  • Provide cover during busy periods and leave to the People Services Coordinator.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Employee Relation issues, including conduct, capability, absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Support and guide formal HR processes, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance hearings.
  • Address and resolve employee concerns, conflicts and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and analyse ER trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement and proactively address potential issues.
  • To assist in the delivery of organisational change initiatives, including staff consultation procedures and TUPE transfers
  • To contribute to the development of appropriate HR policies and procedures. Contribute to reviewing HR policies, procedures and working practices
  • Coach and train people managers on ER topics and HR policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the People Services team and People Managers to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Compliance

  • Stay up to date on UK employment laws and regulations to ensure the organisation's compliance.
  • Be the compliance champion in the People Services team completing regular internal audits throughout the employment lifecycle process
  • Have a continual focus on quality assurance throughout the department
  • Ensuring we adhere to all ISO 9001 requirements in the department
  • Assist with change management initiatives, such as restructures or TUPE where required.

HR Policies and Procedures

  • Develop, update and communicate People policies and procedures
  • Ensure fair application and enforcement of policies throughout the organisation that adapts to personal circumstances, we want a people first approach, not a policy first approach to our people with a high level of empathy.
  • Provide training and coaching to managers on people-related policies and best practices with the rest of the People Services Team.
  • Complete Exit Interviews in conjunction with the People Services Coordinator and ensure actions are dealt with accordingly
  • Collaborate with the wider People Services team on projects and initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organisational culture.

Who You Are

You will have previous experience in a People team that includes ER casework

  • Good knowledge of UK law and HR best practices
  • Confident managing multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Thrives driving quality assurance and compliance initiatives
  • Excels working in a fast-paced environment, we are completely flexible on industries you have worked in, an SME background would be advantageous, but not essential.

Other Information About The Role

  • Salary: £35,000 per annum
  • Duration: 12 month FTC
  • Hours: 40 per week; Monday Friday 9am - 5.30pm
  • Location: Lancing with hybrid flexibilities

Our selection process is as follows: Application - Competency Based Interview - 2nd Interview with task

You must be able to legally live and work in the UK without sponsorship

The postholder may be required to travel to our site locations for meetings on occasion
